What to include
When requesting support, please include as much of the following information as possible:
- macOS version
- Safari version
- app version
- which chapter and summary provider/model is selected
- whether ChatGPT or Grok is connected in the companion app
- whether Apple Intelligence is available on the Mac
- the YouTube video URL, if it is safe to share
- any error message shown in the In this video panel or fallback sidebar
Basic setup help
- Install the macOS app and move it to Applications.
- Open the app and enable the Safari extension from Safari Extension Settings.
- Open a supported YouTube watch or live page.
- YouTube creator chapters and Key moments work without a provider sign-in.
- Use Apple Intelligence for local summaries when available.
- Connect ChatGPT or Grok in the companion app to enable transcript-generated chapters and provider summaries.
Known limitations
- Videos without captions or a transcript cannot receive generated chapters or summaries, although existing YouTube chapters may still display.
- Generated chapters require a connected selected provider in the companion app.
- Apple Intelligence summaries require Apple Intelligence to be available on the Mac.
- Active livestreams may not expose a stable transcript until the broadcast finishes.
- Generated timestamps and summaries may be incomplete or inaccurate and should be reviewed before use.
- YouTube, ChatGPT, Grok, Safari, macOS, and Apple Intelligence changes may affect app behavior.
